We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting our third annual Sun Prairie Polka Festival on Saturday, March 5, 2017. A horse team will arrive to the event to entertain visitors with traditional American polka music from 12: 00 to 15: 30.
The route starts at 11: 00 a.m. on East Main Street in Sun Prairie, south of the intersection of Main and Main Streets. Cars will continue along the route, visiting the decorated shops along EastMain Street and passing the illuminated Christmas tree at the corner of North and South Main in downtown.

Madison Metro Route 23 has switched off - during peak hours to Sun Prairie, and although taxi service is for the city only, Shared Taxi also offers a northeast route where commuters can connect to the Madison Metro bus system.
Although Sun Prairie does not have city buses, the only passenger trains that serve the area are the Amtrak Empire Builder, which operates in the Midwest and Northwest of the United States. Although the Sunshine Plains south of the city has freight train tracks, it has never had a city bus, but over the past decade has offered a shared ride taxi service (# 58) that allows residents to drive into and depart from the cities, sometimes with other passengers. Mayor Esser will join the only Santa Claus who will light the Christmas tree on the city's new Christmas tree for the first time at 7.30 p.m. so that everyone can see it.
There is also a Christmas tree lighting night at 7.30pm, sponsored by Fade Boutique. Sun Prairie will host Santa Claus for the first time in the city's history on Christmas Eve.
